Dr. Neeraj Amarnani is a Professor of Finance at GIM, with extensive leadership experience
including Dean (Academics) and Chairperson of the PGDM program. His prior roles at Nirma
University and MICA, where he led the Entrepreneurship Development Centre, demonstrate
his commitment to academic innovation.
His research focuses on fintech, behavioural finance, and investments, evidenced by
numerous publications, co-edited books, and international seminar presentations. He has
received accolades such as Best Paper in Finance (Nirma, 2007), a Certificate of Excellence
(ISB, 2005), Best Teacher in Financial Management (Lokmat, 2015), and Prof Y K Bhushan
Most Influential Professors (2023).
Dr. Amarnani designs and conducts training programs on fintech, financial modelling, and
finance for non-finance executives and also facilitates in-company training modules in
finance.
Prof. Arpita Amarnani's expertise spans sustainable finance, fintech, renewable energy, and
broader financial systems. She completed the Sustainable Finance Foundation Course at
Oxford in 2019, demonstrating her commitment to this emerging field. As founding Chair of
the Centre for excellence in sustainable development at GIM, she has spearheaded and
documented various sustainability practices at the institute.
She holds a PhD in Management, an MBA in Finance, and a Bachelor's in Electrical
Engineering. Arpita’s research focuses on Fintech business models and Sustainable Finance,
with publications and Best Paper awards at international conferences. She is currently
leading a GIM team in an EU-funded Erasmus+ project on impact-focused entrepreneurship
along with multiple European and Indian partner universities. Under her leadership, GIM’s
sustainability initiatives earned global recognition at the International Green Gown Awards
2022.
Prof Venkatesh is an HR professional with close to three decades of experience across diversified
leadership roles as a generalist and specialist. He had managed an employee span of over ten
thousand across geographies, contributed to organizational transformation and growth of the
organization. He has been into learning facilitation and development for over a decade.
He has designed and delivered generic and customized learning programs for executives across
organizations, locations and levels and has provided HR consulting services to organizations across
India. These HR Consulting assignments include Leading HR Re-engineering and Outsourcing. He has
also contributed to people excellence in excellence in organizations through HR Audit, Policy Re-
design.
Prof. Abhishek Naresh's research focuses on labour markets, climate change, and monetary
policy in emerging economies, with a particular interest in India's informal labour markets.
He also researches economics of education in low-income households. His diverse
background includes a PhD in Economics from IIM Bangalore, an MA in Economics, and a
B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
He has experience in after-sales marketing at a major automobile manufacturer and in
improving learning outcomes in low-income schools. He has collaborated with TISS,
Mumbai, and INSEAD, Singapore, on research projects.
Prof. Naresh offers freelance research consultancy in climate change, labour economics, and
economics of education. His expertise includes macroeconomics, microeconomics,
regression analysis, and time series econometrics.
